Jamshedpur: CRPF DG Gyanendra Prasad Singh visited Chaibasa on Monday to take stock of the ongoing operations against left wing extremist groups in West Singhbhum district. Singh reviewed Operation Black Forest in detail and interacted with senior officials of Jharkhand Police the officers who are engaged in field operations in Saranda forest.
“The meeting was primarily to take stock of the situation and re-strategize our plan to make the anti-Naxal operation more effective. Discussions were also held to improve coordination among different agencies to ensure smooth operations,” a senior official, who was present in the meeting, said.
Notably, Union home minister Amit Shah has directed the security forces to eliminate left wing extremism from the country by March this year.
When contacted West Singhbhum SP Amit Renu did not divulge details of the meeting. “It was a regular review meet,” he said.
