Ramgarh: Bodies of a middle-aged couple were recovered from a well at Kulhi village under the Rajrappa police station in Ramgarh district on Thursday. Police have sent their bodies for autopsy and began a probe to ascertain whether it is a murder or suicide. The deceased were identified as Kanchan Nayak (40) and his wife Uma Devi (35). A few villagers spotted the bodies in the well and informed the police in the morning.
The officer-in-charge of Rajrappa police station, Hair Nandan Singh, said, “The cause of death could be ascertained only after the post-mortem report but prima facie, it seems they died by suicide as there are no injury marks on the bodies.”
Sudhir Kumar Manglesh, the president of the 20-point programme of Dulmi block who visited the spot, said the couple belonged to a family of labourers in the area and have three minor sons. TNN
