Cops, rebels clash in Ramkanda

An encounter took place between Ramkanda police and members of Tritya Prastuti Committee (TPC) on Wednesday around 10am in the forest of Gobardaha village, under Ramkanda police station area of the district 40km from the district headquarters.

GARHWA: An encounter took place between Ramkanda police and members of Tritya Prastuti Committee (TPC) on Wednesday around 10am in the forest of Gobardaha village, under Ramkanda police station area of the district 40km from the district headquarters. The encounter lasted for three hours. However, police said no casualty was reported from either side.
Sub-divisional police officer Abhay Jha said the police were tipped-off about 15-16 TPC rebels who were taking rest in Gobardaha forest along with the TPC area commanders Nitant and Arvind. Ramkanda police led by Ramkanda police station officer in-charge Anil Naik raided the spot leading to an exchange of fire.
The rebels managed to escape taking cover of dense forest of Gobardaha. “After the encounter with the TPC rebels, police have launched search operation,” said the SDPO.
