Jamshedpur: Two baskets containing two cobras were found abandoned in front of the Tatanagar railway station main entrance on Sunday. The lids of both baskets were open.
Onlookers first mistook the baskets for trash but raised an alarm after spotting the snakes. Station authorities alerted the forest department and wildlife experts. “The snakes belong to a cobra species, locally known as ‘Gehunua Saanp’,” said snake catcher Chotu. The Jamshedpur forest department released the reptiles in the Dalma forest reserve. An investigation is on.
