RANCHI: Chief minister Arjun Munda, who is recuperating at the Apollo hospital here, was shifted to the VIP ward from the neuro intensive care unit (NICU) on Saturday.
A medical bulletin issued by the hospital authorities said all patients, including Munda and his wife Meera Munda, were reported to have shown signs of quick recovery.
Hospital superintendent P D Sinha said observing the improvement in medical condition all the patients were shifted to super deluxe ward where arrangement for critical care had been provided in the wake of the fact that they underwent poly trauma.
Dr Sanjay Kumar, who has been looking after Munda and his wife, said he was satisfied with the signs of improvement. "The chief minister has not complained of back pain anymore and his wife also confirmed of considerable reduction in pain," he said.
Munda who resumed office work in the hospital yesterday for a brief period of time expressed gratitude to the citizens of state.
In a communique issued by the chief ministers office, Munda said it was because of affection and good wishes of the people of this state that he not only survived such a major accident but is also recovering fast. "I am perfectly fine and hope to come back to service of people of the state soon but during my stay in hospital the immense love and care expressed by the people of this state gave me strength to fight out my pain," he said.
