Ranchi: Most schools remained closed while some took online classes on Monday.
An English teacher at St Anthony’s School, Aditi Sidhant, said the syllabus of the ongoing session has been affected by the frequent bandhs and protests. There are 16 classes of 40 minutes each for a subject in a week, she added.
“The lesson plans and the academic calendar are pre-decided to keep up with the continuous assessments of students. However, such unplanned and frequent closures of schools disrupt the targeted syllabus, burdening both the teachers and the students,” Sidhant added.
Mayur Maneesh, a student of St Anthony, said, “Since our classes are regular, the teachers come to teach us during our games period and the golden hour meant for extracurricular activities.”
Another teacher, Pokhraj Singh, of the Uttkramit Uchcha Vidyalaya in Kanke, said “Disturbances led to the closure of classes and cancellation of examinations. Such situations have been troubling the students, teachers and parents for a long time.”
