Chatra: Kunda police on Monday raided Batukuiya village and seized large consignment of opium, doda, and other narcotic substances worth Rs 50 lakh. However, none could be arrested, it added.
Chatra SP Sumit Kumar Agrawal said, “Acting on a tip-off, a team led by Simaria sub-divisional police officer (SDPO) Shubham Khandelwal raided the house of one Gyani Ganjhu at Batukuiya. Around 840 gm of opium, 3.15 quintals of doda, and 35 kg of poppy seeds were seized. Several tools and equipment like a motor pump, two section pipes, a bundle of pipe and a pesticide spray machine used in opium cultivation were also seized.”
