Chatra dist readies 10-bed ward for dengue patients

Chatra: The district health department is on high alert mode after two confirmed patients of dengue, including a CRPF personnel, surfaced in Chatra last week. Officials on Tuesday said a 10-bedded isolation centre is now functional and has monitors, ventilators, oxygen and other equipment.
District hospital officials said the two dengue patients, who were admitted last week, have been discharged. Currently, the administration is sending suspected samples for testing to Hazaribag. Chatra municipality areas is divided into four sectors to take up dengue surveillance. In rural areas, sahiyas will identify the patients. Sadar hospital superintendent Dr Manish Lal said, “Patients coming with dengue symptoms are getting proper care and their samples are sent for testing regularly.”
