Chas admin to launch outreach campaigns ahead of ULB polls

Bokaro: With the municipal elections around the corner, the Chas district administration on Sunday intensified its media oversight, aiming to ensure a free, fair, and transparent electoral process. Deputy commissioner and district election officer Ajay Nath Jha ordered an evaluation of publicity campaigns, social media monitoring, and adherence to the Model Code of Conduct (MCC).

Highlighting the importance of voter engagement, Jha urged officials to launch extensive outreach campaigns through print, electronic, and social media platforms.


Special attention is to be given to young voters, women, and first-time participants, ensuring maximum awareness about polling day.

Deputy development commissioner Shatabdi Majumdar was appointed senior officer of the public relations department. She will supervise media coordination, approve publicity materials, issue press releases, and monitor the systematic dissemination of election-related information.

“Ravi Kumar, district public relations officer, was directed to keep a continuous watch on newspapers, television channels, and digital platforms to prevent any violation of the MCC. Teams were deputed to take immediate action on any misleading, objectionable, or unlawful content,” said DC.

A fully functional district control room was established for citizens, candidates, and political parties to report complaints, including MCC violations. The administration appealed to the public to cooperate in maintaining peaceful, transparent elections and report any irregularities promptly.
