Chainpur Police Station Chief Busted for Extortion: Corruption Exposed in Gumla
Gumla: Anti-corruption bureau (ABC) team from Ranchi on Wednesday nabbed officer in-charge of Chainpur police station in Gumla district here, Shailesh Kumar for taking bribe of Rs 20,000. He was taking bribe at the police station itself.Kumar demanded the money from one Jaipal Nayak, a resident of Bendora village under the same police station limits for allowing him to making bricks on his land for building a house.“When Kumar learnt that Nayak is making bricks, he reached there and demanded Rs 20000 to 30000 for allowing him to do so. He threatened to implicate him in false case if he doesn’t pay,” a press release issued by ACB stated. "After verifying the details, team of the ACB reached Chainpur police station and caught Kumar red handed taking bribe after laying a trap," it added.
