JAMSHEDPUR:
Bhanu Pratap Singh, the DIG (operations) of CRPF, Chaibasa, has been awarded with Police Medal for meritorious service by the President on Republic Day.
The officer has been honoured with the prestigious medal in recognition of his exceptional administrative skills, outstanding initiative and exemplary dedication to duty throughout his illustrious 23 years of service.
In his police career, the officer was actively involved in various operations during peak time of militancy in Punjab from 1989 to 1991. He has also served in the special protection group department from 1992 to 1998 as officer in-charge of security of PMO and PMH and Parliament premises. He was also given opportunity to serve in United Nation's mission in Kosovo during 2000-2001.
During 2004-2007, the officer has successfully conducted various anti-Naxalite operations in Jharkhand, including highly sensitive area of Jhumra while he was posted in Bokaro. Currently, he is supervising all anti-Naxalite operations in the Chaibasa region.
"This recognition has boosted my morale and commitment towards the responsibility entrusted on me as police officer," he said.
