CCL gives job letters to eight displaced youths in Ramgarh

Ramgarh: Young tribal woman Salomi Soren was all smiles on Tuesday as she, along with seven others, received job letters from the Central Coalfields Limited (CCL), a subsidiary of the state-owned Coal India Limited (CIL), at an event in Rajrappa area of CCL in Ramgarh district.General manager P N Yadav handed over letters to eight displaced, including five women, under CCL’s displacement, resettlement and rehabilitation policy 2012 which provisions permanent job in lieu of acquiring two acres of land from landholders for mining works in any area. Nearly 600 acres at Dhawaiya and Simrabera villages have been acquired by CCL for its block-2 mine expansion mega project. The PSU will provide permanent jobs to nearly 300 displaced in a phased manner, officials said. A few months ago, the company had provided a job letter to another displaced youth, Sunil Murmu.Sushma Kumari, who also got the letter, said, “Getting a job in CCL is like a big dream come true. We gave our land to CCL for the nation’s development.”Yadav said, “It's our duty to give displacement benefits.” Rajrappa mine expansion project is worth around Rs 1,000 crore. It is being monitored by the project monitoring group (PMG) of the Government of India. Around 1,200 acres will be acquired. CCL has so far paid Rs 73 crore to the state government for acquiring a chunk of state government and forest land here.
