CBSE, JAC, ICSE Exam Prep 2026: Ranchi Students Intensify Studies with Disciplined Strategies
Ranchi: With examinations of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC), and Indian Council of Secondary Education (ICSE) drawing closer, students have intensified their preparations by adopting disciplined, personal strategies and strictly following academic guidelines issued by their respective schools.
While CBSE examinations for Classes X and XII will begin on Feb 17, the ICSE Class X examinations are scheduled from Feb 17 to Mar 30, and the ISC Class XII examinations will take place from Feb 12 to Apr 6. The JAC Class X examinations will also be conducted from Feb 3 to Feb 17, 2026, and the Class XII examinations will start from Feb 3 and continue till Feb 23, 2026.
As part of their preparation, the students are focusing on structured study schedules, regular revisions, and continuous practice tests to strengthen conceptual clarity and time management. Many are combining self-study with doubt-clearing sessions, peer discussions, and targeted practice based on individual strengths and weaknesses.
On his preparedness, Nitya Shandilya, a Class X student at Oxford Public School, said, “Alongside academics, I put equal emphasis on stress management, discipline, and maintaining a healthy balance between study and rest.”
Additionally, candidates are focusing on comprehensive preparations to support their performance. These included a mix of online learning modules, subject-specific workshops, revision classes, and periodic assessments.
Adharshree Pallavi Nayak, a Class XII student of Kairali School, said, “We usually take short breaks, spend quality time with family members, and engage in our hobbies. These activities help refresh the mind, reduce pressure and anxiety, and maintain emotional balance, enabling better concentration, confidence, and effective learning during the preparation.”
Experts said thorough, structured planning, continuous practice, and emotional resilience shape character, strengthen confidence, and refine purpose. CBSE city coordinator of Ranchi zone, Jaya Chauhan, said, “Board examinations are not a test of rote learning alone but a preparation for life itself. As our students prepare for the examination, they are learning to balance discipline with determination, knowledge with wisdom, and ambition with integrity. When students prepare with sincerity, self-belief with calm and conviction, examinations become milestones of growth where effort transforms into excellence and young minds emerge future ready.”
Meanwhile, schools are promoting self-directed learning by guiding students on goal setting, revision planning, and analysing performance with mock exams. The schools also introduced innovative methods to cater to diverse learning styles. At the same time, traditional exam-centric workshops and simulated exam environments are being conducted to enhance exam readiness.
Regional secretary of ASISC-Bihar and Jharkhand region, Christopher Francis, said, “Students should trust the guidance of their teachers and strictly follow the instructions. Regular revision, clarity of concepts, and disciplined study habits will help them perform confidently and successfully. Teachers are closely monitoring progress and offering individual feedback to address learning gaps, while parents are being regularly updated to ensure a supportive home environment.
In addition, schools are encouraging independent study by providing access to study materials and libraries. Digital platforms are also being widely used to provide recorded lectures, practice materials, and mock tests, enabling students to revise at their own pace and revisit difficult topics.
The state education department has also stepped up support by preparing an extensive practice question bank in coordination with the Jharkhand Council of Educational Research and Training to familiarise the students with examination patterns.
