Ranchi: An army havildar, Mukesh Kumar Rai, and his accomplice, Dinesh Kumar Rai, were arrested by the
Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for allegedly demanding Rs 50,000 from a person for allowing him to continue construction on a land belonging to the army.
The CBI on Saturday said that the havildar had accepted a bribe of Rs 50,000 on January 1. He demanded another Rs 1.50 lakh but agreed to accept Rs 50,000. The CBI laid the trap and caught the havildar and his accomplice while accepting the bribe.
The CBI also conducted searches at the residential premises of the accused persons.
