RANCHI: A first class judicial magistrate's court on Friday adjourned hearing of a case against social activist and Booker prize winner Arundhati Roy for saying Kashmir is not an integral part of India' in Ranchi recently.
A CD containing her remarks was shown to the magistrate, Amit Shekher. Advocate Anand Prakash said the CD was shown to the judge and proceedings were recorded in the case after which the case was adjourned till January 20.
He said under CrPC provisions, the petitioner has written to the governor for sanctioning prosecution against Roy.

The case against her was filed by an RSS worker, Ashish Kumar Singh, saying that her statement was anti-national and meant to spread hatred among the people.
Earlier, the chief judicial magistrate's court had ordered a judicial probe into the case.
