Chatra: A 14.23km bypass road will soon be built in Chatra town. It has been a long pending demand of locals to ease traffic woes in the key area of the district. The highway wing of the state road construction department has floated a tender for its construction estimated to cost Rs 196 crore. The road will pass through 14 villages.
The traffic has increased manifold over the years but narrow roads make commuting difficult as a result of which a bypass is planned to ease snarls, said officials.
