Bokaro Police Arrest Four With 70kg Stolen Aluminium Cables Near BSL
Bokaro: Four persons were arrested with 70 kg of stolen aluminium cables near Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL), the police said on Saturday.
“The accused were caught while trying to transport the stolen wires in a white car through rural route to avoid detection,” DSP Headquarter Pawan Kumar said.
Those arrested were identified as Prakash Kumar Upadhyay, Sindu Kumar, Prince Kumar and Rohit Kumar. All are local residents, the police said.
An intensive vehicle-checking drive was launched in the area based on a tip-off. During the operation, police signalled the car to stop, but the driver allegedly attempted to flee. The police chased it and intercepted near the Narkara culvert after setting up a blockade.
DSP said, “After searching the vehicle, around 70kg of cut aluminium wires packed in green plastic sacks were recovered. The occupants could not produce valid documents related to the consignment. During questioning, the accused admitted that they used to steal aluminium wires from the BSL area and sold them later in Ramgarh.”
