BIT Sindri organises green marathon to spread eco awareness

Eco Club of BIT Sindri organized a green marathon as part of its annual festival "Prakriti-11" on Sunday to spread the message of ecological balance and saving earth by planting more and more trees.

SINDRI: Eco Club of BIT Sindri organized a green marathon as part of its annual festival "Prakriti-11" on Sunday to spread the message of ecological balance and saving earth by planting more and more trees.
Nearly 1500 students, teachers and officials of Tata Steel and BCCL participated in the marathon race inaugurated by the institute director S.K Singh.

While Sushil Kumar of second-year metallurgical engineering won the race, Suman Hess of second-year mining engineering and Manoj Kumar of third-year electrical engineering remained secured second and third position respectively.
In the theme-based painting competition Ankit Kumar, Mainak and Mahendra were declared winners in different groups and Rajendra was declared winners in Matka Phod competition.
In Musical chair competition Kiran and Kamlesh Paswan remained winners in girls and boys category respectively. Tug of war, Deepanjali, Deep Sajja and Housie were among other competitions organized during the festival.
A kite flying competition was also organized to spread the message of social integration.
Paintings of differently-abled student children of Picasso Art Centre of Dhanbad was also exhibited on the occasion.

Study kits along with Braille apparatus, cloths and other dress materials were also provided to blind, deaf and dumb students from Dhanbad on the occasion.
A documentary prepared on primitive Birhore tribes was also exhibited on this occasion. Prof. Kumal, Prof. Manoj Mishra, Prof. Krishan Murari, Prof. Rajiv Verma were prominent among other teachers present on the occasion.
Eco Club president Abhishek, Suraj, Kaustuv Garai, Nikita, Khusbu, Pinki, Ranjita, Abhimanu, Kundan, Umashankar, Rahul and Shashi were prominent among other students active in organisng in festival.
