RANCHI: Jharkhand health minister

Banna Gupta

on Wednesday alleged that he was not allowed to put forth the state's concern over the precautionary

Covid 19

vaccine during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's virtual meeting with the chief ministers.

Gupta, who attended the meeting on behalf of chief minister Hemant Soren, told reporters later that he had raised his hand to demand that booster doses for citizens of all age groups should be made free.

J'khand's voice not heard at meet, claims Banna

Gupta claimed, "I also raised my hand to demand that the Centre should provide free vaccines to the children aged between six and 12 years. But Jharkhand's voice was not heard at the meeting."

Modi's meeting came a day after the Drugs Controller General of India approved Corbebax, Covaxin and ZycovD Covid-19 vaccines for emergency use on children aged between five and 12 years in the country.

"The points which the PM made in the meeting will be adhered to. But the meeting turned out to be a political one as 60% of the conversation hovered around petrol prices and its tax cut while only 40% was centred on Covid-19,"

Gupta

added.

Gupta attended the meeting after Hemant pulled out citing the illness of his mother

Rupi Soren

, who is admitted in a private hospital.
