RANCHI: The bank heads of Jharkhand and
Bihar would meet in Patna on Monday to prepare a plan for ensuring that the exercise is completed smoothly without causing inconvenience to people.
GM of Bank of India,
Manoj Kumar said the strategy to ensure adequate supply of currencies of other denominations for substituting Rs 2000 would also be drawn.
Kumar said the process would be hassle-free as there are around 3,500 bank branches in Jharkhand, which is sufficient for handling the exercise.
He said people can exchange Rs 2000 currencies at the cash recycle machines placed at major bank branches and RBI regional offices. Kumar added that the public can also deposit any amount of Rs 2000 currencies in their accounts.
People can also approach the RBI ombudsman if they face any problem in the exercise at bank branches.
