Bangla Sanskritik Mela-2010 convenor Suprio Bhattacharya said as in previous years there would be efforts to create an all-Bengali aura during the festival with Bengali songs, dance and food.
"Artistes from Rabindra Bharati University and West Bengal are coming here to perform, while cooks with expertise in Bengali cuisine will prepare the food," he said.
The mela has been organized successfully here since 1999 with a break in 2003. It not only attracts the locals but also people from neighbouring states and those who have been married outside state.
Sumita Mukherjee tries to ensure that she attends the mela. "The mela reminds me of the old days and I feel lucky to be in Ranchi during these three days," she says.
While Mahua Mukherjee of Rabindra Bharati University will present "Gorio" __ a folk dance, noted TV artiste Arindam Ganguly and Srikanta Acharya of "Paap" will enthrall the listeners on last day of the festival, while Priyam Mukherjee, Sujoy Bhowmick and other singers will perform on the first evening.
Bhattacharya said apart from cultural programme, the stage is set for the schoolstudents to participate in solo song, poem recitation, one-act play, sit-and-draw and other contests as has been organized every year.
