Baitha produced in Garhwa court

GARWHA: Maoist leader and Lok Sabha MP Kameshwar Baitha was brought to Garhwa court from Sasaram jail on Saturday amid heavy security. A large number of people thronged the court premises here to see the Naxalite-turned-politician.
After being produced in the court of ADJ AK Rai in Bhawnathpur police station case No. 69/90, Baitha was sent to Garhwa jail.
Baitha's supporters welcomed him with garlands on his way from the court to jail.

Baitha looked very relaxed and there was no sign of discomfort on his face.
He said his priority was to bring reforms in education and drinking water supply system.

"No highhandedness of middlemen and bureaucrats will be tolerated at any cost," he said.
He said poverty, illiteracy, corruption and exploitation of the poor were the main reasons behind Naxalism here.
He said he had always struggled for the cause of poor but never used arms. "Judges are like God who do justice. I, too, expect justice from the court of law as I have already been proved innocent by the people's court," Baitha said.
At present there are eight cases pending in Garhwa court against Baitha. All the cases are related to his alleged activities as a member of the outlawed CPI(Maoist).
