RAMGARH: All eyes are set on Ramgarh,that went for the bypolls on Monday as counting begins Thursday morning.at Ramgarh college amid tight security.
Giving details of counting of votes SDO, Ramgarh Mohammad Javed Hussain said that counting begins at 8AM and it would be carried out by as many as 120 personnel which include counting observers, assistants and counting supervisors on 40 tables which is to be completed in 11 rounds.
Electronic Voting Machines (EVM) received from all 405 polling stations setup in four blocks of the district are locked in strong room made in Ramgarh college which is under CCTV Surveilance and security forces were deployed to keep vigil round the clock, said an official adding that Ramgarh college campus has been barricaded and police forces were deployed in the entrance.
No one without a pass issued by competent authorities would be allowed to enter the campus and informations to be provided to media in media gallery while media person allowed to visit counting room only with an official.
Ramgarh bypoll concluded on Monday with 67.96% turnout. Of the 3.34 lakh electors 2.28 lakh voters exercised their franchise. Fate of 18 candidates including Bajrang Mahto of congress , Sunita Choudhary of Ajsu Party, Santosh Kumar Mahto of Jharkhand Party, Yugan Mahto of Navodaya Jantantrik Party and 14 independents including 12 job aspirants, Ram Avtar Mahto and Dhananjay Kumar Putush are to be decided.
Candidates felt relaxed after the bypoll got over on Monday evening. Congress candidate Bajrang Mahto spent time with his three children , while Ajsu Party candidate Sunita Choudhary remained busy cooking favourite dishes for family on Wednesday keeping fingers crossed for the D-day.
