Ajsu activist murdered

JAMSHEDPUR: An Ajsu activist was killed in Chakuliya block of the district late on Saturday night.
Madan Mohan Kisku, 30, the party president of Chakuliya block in Ghatshila subdivision, was riding the pillion a motorcycle back home in Lodhasoli, about 70km from district headquarters, when unidentified persons attacked him.
Kisku was battered to death with sticks and sharp weapons while his companion, not identified till now, is admitted to the Ghatshila government hospital with multiple injuries.His condition is said to be stable.
"Preliminary investigations suggest that business rivalry over contract to dig a pond is the reason behind the killing," said Vishwanth Singh, the officer in charge of Chakuliya police station.
The Ajsu district unit has sought a probe into the matter and arrest of assailants at the earliest. One person had been detained for questioning.
