NOIDA: On Monday, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Lalu Prasad Yadav, who recently underwent a kidney transplant, visited the Baba Baidyanath Temple in Deoghar and the Baba Basukinath Temple in Dumka. Former chief minister Rabri Devi accompanied him for the prayers. During this temple visit, Lalu Prasad did not engage in any conversations with the media.Lalu Prasad Yadav arrived at the Baba Baidyanath Temple on Monday morning amid tight security. He, along with Rabri Devi, performed prayers and rituals with full adherence to the traditions. The temple's sanctum sanctorum had been closed for two months during the Shravan month, and arrangements for rituals were carried out through the Argha system. With the reopening of the sanctum sanctorum and the resumption of rituals, a large number of devotees have been thronging to the temple, leading to some difficulties for Lalu Prasad Yadav due to the crowd.In Deoghar, several senior RJD leaders, including Suresh Paswan and former MLA Sanjay Prasad Yadav, were also present during the prayers offered by Lalu Prasad Yadav. Additionally, many RJD leaders from Bihar and Jharkhand joined the former Bihar chief minister at Deoghar to offer their prayers.
In Dumka, at the Baba Basukinath Temple, Lalu Prasad Yadav was accompanied by the state's agriculture minister Badal as he performed rituals. Lalu Prasad Yadav and Rabri Devi conducted an abhishek (sacred bathing ceremony) with due reverence, seeking blessings for prosperity and well-being for society.Before visiting Deoghar, Lalu Yadav expressed the need to oust the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) from the country. He worked on rejuvenating the party's leaders and workers with renewed energy ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.During his conversation with reporters in Deoghar, Lalu Prasad Yadav reiterated his belief that the alliance between the RJD, JD(U), and INC (Indian National Congress) would succeed in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.(This story was originally published in Navbharat Times)
