Jamshedpur: A 37-year-old man, Budeshwar Singh, a resident of Patamda block, died on Tuesday after jumping off from the roof of a pick-up van after the overloaded vehicle suddenly wavered on an uneven patch at Bamni village on the Tata-Patamda main road on Monday evening.
Apprehending that the vehicle would turn overturn, Singh jumped off the vehicle and sustained injuries. He was a mason and was on way to his home. Immediately after the incident, Patamda police admitted him to the MGMMCH, where he died during treatment on Tuesday. Patamda police station officer in-charge, Vishnu Bhokta couldn’t be reached for details.
In another incident, 52-year-old Khatia Pradhan died while his wife sustained injuries after an unidentified vehicle reportedly hit their bicycle head on in Kaliadungri under Seraikela police station limits. Police rescued the injured couple and rushed them to the MGMMCH but Pradhan died on the way.
