500 tonnes of coal seized in Hazaribag

HAZARIBAG: In a drive against coal smuggling Hazaribag police headed by SP Manoj Kaushik seized over 500 tonnes of coal during raids and vehicle checks at Barhi and Chouparan, Bishnugarh, Hazaribag Mufassil, Charhi and Ichak areas in the last one week.
The SP said his intention was to organize raids and vehicle checks moving on various NHs passing through the district to give a clear message to all OCs of police stations that he would not tolerate any laxity on the part of police to help the coal smugglers and allow them to flourish.
"I even suspended one officer for his indifferent attitude in dealing with such cases," he said adding that he has he directed all the police officers to continue raids against the unscrupulous coal traders.
