45 kg ganja seized from train at Bokaro railway station

Bokaro: The Railway Protection Force (RPF) recovered ganja weighing 45.3 kg from three unclaimed trolley bags on the Alleppey-Dhanbad Express at Bokaro Steel City railway station on Monday. The RPF received a tip about three unclaimed bags on the S 3 coach of the train. When the train arrived at the station around 9 am, a RPF team and officers by officers from the crime intelligence branch (CIB) Adra unit inspected the coach and found three locked trolley bags were discovered near the lavatory.

When the passengers on-board and the train ticket examiner were questioned about the bag’s owners, none were identified. The bags were then unloaded at the station, scanned and were kept at the RPF assistance booth for further probe. “Each trolley had over 15 kg of the contraband. The consignment is estimated to have a market value of Rs 4.5 lakh,” a RPF official said.
