4 minors among eight held for rape of two girls

Bokaro: Eight persons, including four minors, have been nabbed by Giridih police in connection with the alleged gang rape of two tribal minor girls, police said on Thursday.

The minors were produced before the Juvenile Justice Board and sent to remand home.

The incident took place on the night of Jan 25 when the girls were returning home after attending a local fair.

Next day, the girls lodged a complaint with the local police station.

Giridih SP Bimal Kumar said that a special investigation team was constituted to probe the incident.

Four of those arrested have been identified as Rajesh Murmu (26), Ravilal Tudu (23), Sanjay Tudu (21) and Sohan Tudu (23).
