3 held over provocative social media messages

Jamshedpur: Bistupur police on Thursday arrested three youths for creating a group on WhatsApp to spread rumours about a particular community. “The purpose of the group was to hurt the religious sentiment of a particular community by spreading provocative and hateful content on the social media platform,” said Bistupur police station in-charge Ashwani Kumar.The accused are identified as Subrato Mukhi (20), Rishab Mukhi, (19) and Ankit Mukhi (20). The police have seized their mobile phones and lodged a case in this connection and forwarded them to jail. TNN
