HAZARIBAGH: At least three people died, and seven others were injured in a road accident in Jharkhand’s Hazaribagh district on Monday, police said.

The incident took place around 6.30 am at Chathi Valley on National Highway-33, under the Charhi police station limits.

A car carrying devotees returning from the Mahakumbh in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, crashed into a stationary truck.

Charhi police station in-charge, Gautam Kumar, stated that three people died on the spot, while the injured were taken to Sheikh Bhikhari Medical College and Hospital in Hazaribagh for treatment.

One of the injured passengers said the accident happened when a motorcycle suddenly appeared in front of their vehicle, causing the driver to lose control and collide with the stationary truck.
