JAMSHEDPUR: XLRI, the premier business school of the region, is organising a three-day national conference on "Youth development and social entrepreneurship" starting Friday wherein eminent speakers engaged in transforming the potential urban waste into a potent resource would enlighten the budding managers about the ways and means to evolve an inclusive framework of development.
The nine noted speakers include National Advisory Council (NAC) member and Ramon Magsaysay awardee Deep Joshi and Rajeev Khandelwal, director of Aajeevika Bureau, which is among the first few
institutions in north India to provide support service to millions of unskilled labourers and migrants who seasonally move across the country is search of work.
"The primary objective behind the three day conference is to effect change by promoting growth of grassroots ideas and enterprise," Prof Madhukar Shukla of XLRI said.
The conclave would dwell on issues that are confronting the urban, semi-urban and rural youths in the society regarding the complete development of the community.
"In the liberalized economic scenario of the country the fundamentals of socio-eco development of the youths, in particular, have changed and warrants better coordination between the urban and rural counterpart for effective and balanced growth of the youths and the proposed conference would dwell on these issues," Prof Shukla said.
Anshu Gupta, founder director, Goonj, Ashraf Patel, co-founder of Pravah, Inir Pinheiro, co-founder, Grassroots, Manisha Gupta, Start-up, Dr Nalini Gangadharan, chairperson, CAP, foundation and
Ramakrishna NK, co-founder Rangde.org have confirmed their participation in the conclave.
