217 Bokaro youths get job offers

Bokaro: At least 217 job aspirants were selected at the Dattopant Thengadi Employment Fair-2023 organised at ITI, Chas on Saturday. Appointment letters were handed over to 65 young men and women on the spot by various employers. The event was organised by the labour employment training and skill development department under the regional employment office.Inaugurating the event, deputy commissioner (DC) Kuldeep Chowdhary said a large number of candidates reached the fair that was attended by 31 companies. He called upon the youths to apply for projects under the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) and the Chief Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (CMEGP) and provide employment to others.To promote rural livelihood, he has made self-help groups (SHGs) self-dependent by providing credit linkage through the Jharkhand Stare Livelihood Promotion Scheme. The women have done a business of Rs 2.15 crore by manufacturing, marketing, and selling products, he added.The district administration would ensure employment of 75 per cent local youths in the industries operating here. The District Employment Office has identified 800 employers. Over 150 employers have registered themselves, while the remaining ones have been instructed to folow suit.Deputy development commissioner (DDC) Kirtishree G said Bokaro is the hub of education and industry. .
