1L rural girls in Kolhan get sanitary pads
Jamshedpur: A Steel City-based NGO, Nishchay Foundation, that works for menstrual hygiene awareness among rural girls, has distributed sanitary pads free of cost to one lakh beneficiaries in the 14 blocks across East Singhbhum, Seraikela-Kharswan and West Singhbhum districts in theKolhan division.
The endeavour to reach out to the rural girls, particularly schoolgirls, which commenced in 2017, completed six years of its journey in January this year.

“We reached out to one lakh beneficiaries across the three districts in six years to create awareness on sanitation,” said Tarun Kumar, the founder of the NGO.
He said the organisation, which has its penetration in the far-off villages, operates sanitary pad bank in 23 government-run Hindi schools. It also delivers the hygiene napkins to 40-plus schools.
