Woman accuses husband of abetting rape

RAJKOT: A 30-year-old woman from Ahmedabad has accused a Rajkot-based man of rape while alleging that her husband abetted the crime.
She has lodged a complaint against Vijay alias Tino Sarvaiya, a resident of Subhashnagar in Rajkot, for allegedly raping her one-and-a-half month ago in presence of her husband Ketan Thakkar at a city-based hotel. Thakkar, who is the woman's fifth husband, has been accused of abetting the rape.The woman had married Thakkar in April this year.
According to police, the woman had stayed with Thakkar at city's Dhanrajni Hotel near Trikon Baug, 45 days ago. During their stay, Thakkar's friend Vijay came to the hotel. "Vijay raped the woman in the presence of her husband in the hotel room," police said, stating the woman's complaint.
The woman had married Vasant in Mumbai and later got a divorce. She then tied the knot with Amit, a resident of Nadiad, who died in a road accident. Police said, the woman got married for third time with one Deepak from Nadiad, but divorced him after she learnt he already had a wife. Manu from Gandhinagar was her fourth husband. She ended ties with him as he refused to live with her kid from her second husband.
