Two IMFL consignments worth Rs 44 Lakh seized

RAJKOT: Two Indian-made foreign liquor (IMFL) consignments,

worth Rs 44.25 lakh

, were

seized

from Bamanbor village of Chotila taluka and Dhandhalpur village of Sayala taluka in Surendranagar district on Saturday and Sunday.



In Bamanbor village, a total of 8,377 IMFL bottles, worth Rs 25.65 lakh, were seized from a truck. “While the truck driver, identified as Wasim Ahmed, fled before the raid, the truck cleaner, identified as Mohemmed Bilal Ansari, was nabbed from the spot,” said Rajkot rapid response cell sub-inspector M P Vala.

In Dhandhalpur village, a total of 4,656 IMFL bottles, worth Rs 18.62 lakh, were seized from a truck. “The bootleggers were dividing the bottles when we conducted the raid. The two bootleggers, identified as Raju Kathi and Ravi Kathi, fled from the spot,” said an official from Sayla police station.
