RAJKOT: Rajkot Division has bagged the prestigious ‘Best Ticket Checking Performance Shield’ in Western Railway for outstanding performance in the year 2015-16 jointly with Ahemdabad Division. The award was received by J C Birdi, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager at Rajkot Railway division. The award was given away by C P Sharma, Chief Commercial Manager (CCM)-Western Railway in the Award Ceremony at Churchgate on Thursday.
Rajkot Division realized robust ticket checking earning of Rs 7.17 crores this year, an increase of 22.55% as compared to last year’s earning of Rs 5.85 crores. Similarly in all, total 143261 cases (including without ticket, higher class travel and unbooked luggage) were registered in the year 2015-16 which is 15.00% more as compared to last year’s cases of 124578. This has been the best earning figure of ticket checking in a year for Rajkot Division till date. Rajkot Division has won this ticket checking shield for the second consecutive year.
Besides this 14 individual awards were given to employees of Commercial Department of Rajkot Division for their meritorious service and outstanding performance in the year 2015-16 namely Daxa Raval , N B Joshi, M N Thaker , G N Jadeja , S M Ashar , Kirti Bhamaniya, Manisha Dixit , Paresh Raval , Chetan Pathak , Dipali Jani, Kanak Sinh Jadeja , Anish Alexander , Tulsibhai Maru and Rudiben.
Anuradha Mukhedkar, DRM Rajkot Division and Shri V K Upadhyaya ADRM congratulated the Officers and Staff for this achievement.
