MOUNT Abu: The oldest mountain rangeof the world celebrated the international environmental event-the Earth day atthe St. Joshep High School. The residents of the Abu pledged to save the motherearth and made a resolve to protect the nature.
A function wasorganized at the auditorium of St. Joseph High School where school studentsparticipated and presented a program highlighting the importance of conservationand saving the nature. The theme was think globally and actlocally.
SDM of Mount Abu Parmeswaran B and the DFO of Mount Abu, MKSirohi, many schools, hostels and people from different walks of life.
The main aim of the programme was to stress on the point rethink,reduce, reuse, recycle and all this to nurture nature.
Vaibhav, Vishal and Jai from St. Mary's High School recounted the importance of Earth Day. The inmates of NAB - PNM, Rehabilitation Centre presented their act before the audience. Visually challenged Surendra Singh was awarded Rs 5, 000/ as an appreciation for his talent by government of Rajasthan and handed over by the SDM Mount Abu Parmeswaran B and Dr Vimal Kuamr Dengla principal of local blind centre.
Kevin one of the students of St. Joseph High School presenteda fact sheet of Earth Day and the students of Rotary School in their songcautioned not to pollute the earth as after that there would be no remedialmeans to correct the wrong.
