Hiral murder case: Two accused held

RAJKOT: The city crime branch on Tuesday evening arrested two accused in the Hiral murder case and handed them over to Gandhigram police for further investigation.
Hiral Gohel, 20, a resident of Savarkundla town in Amreli district, was taken to Wockhardt hospital on Monday by her friend Gaurav Pujara and his friend Vikki Rana, but doctors declared her brought dead.
After her death, Pujara and Rana had disappeared from the hospital without informing the doctors.
A postmortem report revealed that the deceased had suffered injuries on head as well as in the lungs. Gandhigram police have registered a complaint of murder against Pujara and Rana.
According to investigating police officials, Pujara had beaten Hiral with a baseball bat. "Hiral was working in a city-based call centre, but she had left the job three months ago and was staying with Pujara in a rented house in Mochinagar," said police. "They were about to get married, but Pujara had a suspicious nature. So, when he came to know about Hiral's affair with another person, he started torturing her. Pujara had been beating Hiral with a baseball bat for the past four days," said police.
However, on Tuesday, Hiral, apparently after being tortured, called up her mother, but could not speak. So, her mother contacted Pujara as asked him about Hiral's health. When Pujara reached home, he saw that Hiral was unconscious. He then called his friend Rana to come with a car to take her to hospital," police said.
Rana came in his friend's car and they took her to hospital.
Police said that after the incident, Rana abandoned the car on the roadside and fled. However, Rana informed his friend, the car's owner, that he left the car on the roadside after an accident and that he had to rush somewhere for an important work, police said.
Police have recovered car, the baseball bat and important documents in connection with the case.
