He had first hosted a website named www.rechargepay.com, which he closed down after four traders paid him Rs 6 lakh,” said J M Vala, inspector with Junagadh special operation group (SOG).
A team of the SOG officials went to Faridabad in Haryana, from where Rayan used to operate, and brought him to Junagadh. Rayan was booked on the complaint of Jitesh Bhansali, a resident of Madhuram Society in Junagadh.
In his complaint, Bhansali alleged that apart from him, Rayan had duped three other traders in Junagadh.
“The scope of the crime is likely to become wider as more people may have been duped across various cities of Saurashtra and Ahmedabad, Vadodara and Surat,” added Vala.
