Four booked for grabbing NRI’s land in Jamnagar

Rajkot: Four persons have been booked for allegedly usurping a land parcel belonging to a UK-based man by forging documents and impersonating him to execute a .Amit Shah, who lives in the UK, filed a complaint with Sikka police against Bhagvanji Gori, Navin Gori, Yogesh Shah and an unidentified person who allegedly posed as Shah to execute the sale.According to the FIR, Amit had bought three acres of land along the Jamnagar–Khambhaliya highway in Oct 20, 2000. Last month, he learned that the plot had been converted to non-agricultural use and was up for sale. On checking the revenue records, he discovered that an impostor had executed a sale deed worth Rs 49 lakh in favour of Bhagvanji Gori.The accused allegedly used forged identification with a Mumbai address, opened a bank account in Amit's name and received the proceeds of the sale. Witnesses to the sale — Navin Gori, Hirji Mistry and Yogesh Shah — also furnished proof of identity bearing Mumbai addresses.A case has been registered under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita Sections 336, 338, 242 and other relevant provisions.
