Duo sell off mortgaged house

Rajkot: Two persons including a real estate broker were booked for allegedly forging documents and selling a house already mortgaged with a bank to another person in Jamnagar.
Police have booked real estate broker Bhavesh Sachdev and property owner Nilesh Parmar for cheating, forgery and criminal conspiracy based on a complaint filed by Bhagwatsinh Jadeja with the Jamnagar C Division police station.
According to Jadeja, he had bought a house owned by Parmar for Rs 25 lakh. But later he came to know that the property was mortgaged for a loan of Rs 55 lakh with a nationalized bank.
Jadeja stated in his complaint that he came in contact with Sachdev while searching for a house. Sachdev showed him Parmar’s house on Indira Marg and finalized the deal for Rs 24 lakh. The documents were registered with the office of the sub-registrar in February 2020. The original documents of the property in the name of Parmar were transferred to Jadeja.
In 2021, Jadeja came to know from a notice in a local newspaper that the property he bought from Parmar was mortgaged with a bank. Following this Jadeja approached the police.
