Crackdown on liquor dens continues in full swing in Rajkot

In crackdown on illicit liquor business, the police caught a bootlegger in Nehrunagar area with a cache of Indian made foreign liquor (IMFL) bottles worth Rs 43,200 and another bootlegger in Marutinagar area with 28 bottles of IMFL on Friday night. While one bootlegger fled after dumping 10 bottles of IMFL, another bootlegger dumped a country made liquor cache and fled.

RAJKOT: In crackdown on illicit liquor business, the police caught a bootlegger in Nehrunagar area with a cache of Indian made foreign liquor (IMFL) bottles worth Rs 43,200 and another bootlegger in Marutinagar area with 28 bottles of IMFL on Friday night. While one bootlegger fled after dumping 10 bottles of IMFL, another bootlegger dumped a country made liquor cache and fled.

In the first operation, the Rajkot crime branch officials raided the premises of Pintu Parmar (32) following a tip-off about him hoarding a large supply of liquor bottles at his residence and seized 96 IMFL bottles worth Rs 43,200.
In the second operation, the police raided a factory owned by Dipak Solanki (43) in Maruti Industries area and arrested Solanki with 28 IMFL bottles worth Rs 12,200.
At Sitaram Gaushala in Raiyadhar area, bootlegger Ajay Bipin dumped 10 bottles of IMFL worth Rs 3,000 and fled from the spot before the police could catch him.
In the crackdown on country made liquor, the police raided a brewery producing country made liquor at Mota Mava Gam on Kalawad Road and arrested Chhagan Bagada (35), a resident of Upleta. A cache of 20 litre country made liquor worth Rs 400 was seized from him.
That apart, Mukesh Vyas was arrested with country made liquor worth Rs 60 in Bhavaninagar, Anil Rathod with country made liquor worth Rs 180 in Nava Thorala, Arun Sagar with 50 litre country made liquor worth Rs 1,000, Sagar Karsangiya with country made liquor worth Rs 240 in Kubaliyapara and Manisha Kaliya with country made liquor worth Rs 60 in Sorathiyavadi garden.
In Gaekwadi area, Vijay Parmar dumped country made liquor worth Rs 60 and fled from the spot after seeing the cops.
