Cops forced to fire in air to disperse bootleggers

A police party from Bhesan in Junagadh had to fire two bullets in the air on Friday night to disperse a mob which attacked it. The police had intercepted a rickshaw carrying hooch on the outskirts of Pasvada village.

RAJKOT: A police party from Bhesan in Junagadh had to fire two bullets in the air on Friday night to disperse a mob which attacked it. The police had intercepted a rickshaw carrying hooch on the outskirts of Pasvada village.
Sub-inspector K H Jadeja and constable Hasmukh Dave received minor injuries in the scuffle. Later, a complaint was filed against more than 150 people.

"The villagers tried to take away the rickshaw we had caught," Jadeja said.
Juvansinh, Natvarsinh, Chima Nanji, Raja Nagaji, Muna Madha, Arjan Jiva, Kanu Jasa, Rahul Rawat, Hanubha Hamir, Vanaraj Govind and 150 other unidentified people have been named in the complaint. They have been booked under various sections of the Indian Penal Code including 352, 333, 332, 341, 147, 504, 141, and 149 among others.
