Cong alleges sale of meat from dumping site

The municipal corporation in Rajkot, India is investigating allegations that meat from carcasses being thrown into a civic body dumping site in a village is being sold in the market. Members of the opposition party have also demanded action be taken against the people responsible for the misdeeds. The municipal corporation had contracted an agency to collect the carcasses from the city and then dump them at a designated site. The environment engineer for the municipal corporation said that the designated dumping site is not properly cordoned and that people involved in the business of selling skin and bones of animals often use that space. They have a proper monitoring system at the dumping site and all the animals collected by the agency are buried there using municipal corporation's machinery, like earth movers, with proper protocol.
