CGST officer caught taking Rs 5,000 bribe

Rajkot: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) caught Dharmendra Yadav (30), a Class-II officer of the CGST department red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 5,000. The complainant and his partner had started an export-import firm. As part of the verification process, Yadav had visited the firm's address for inspection. The complainant alleged that after the verification, Yadav demanded Rs 5,000 on Feb 8 in exchange for submitting the final report.ACB officer R R Solanki told TOI that the trap was carried out near Racecourse Ground, and the entire bribe amount of Rs 5,000 was recovered from the accused.A case was registered against Yadav under the Prevention of Corruption Act.
