RAJKOT: The stage is set for the extravaganza event at the Saurashtra Cricket Association (SCA) stadium in Khandheri on the outskirts of the city with seven matches of the 9th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) to be played here.
"Gujarat Lions have begun online sale of tickets for IPL matches to be played between Gujarat Lions and Rising Pune Super Giants (April 14) and Gujarat Lions vs Sunrisers Hyderabad (April 21)," SCA stated in a media statement.
The tickets can be booked through the SCA website and a private e-commerce platform.
In the aftermath of the Supreme Court ruling that banned Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) for two years, two new IPL teams were added. Keshav Bansal of Intex Technologies purchased the Rajkot team and named it Gujarat Lions.
In total, seven matches will be played at the SCA stadium in Rajkot during this year's edition of IPL.
SCA officials said that offline booking of tickets will be open in Rajkot, Jamnagar, Ahmedabad and other selected cities shortly.
