Bomb hoax at Navy Children School

Rajkot: The Navy Children School in Porbandar received a bomb threat by email, which was later proved to be a hoax after police verification. According to police, the school received an email on its official ID on Friday night from an unknown person saying there would be an explosion in the school. School authorities discovered this email at around 8am on Saturday morning and informed police. Porbandar deputy superintendent of police Surjeet Mehdu, said, "As we got the information, a team from the bomb disposal squad and special operations group rushed there, evacuated the school and searched the premises. Nothing was found and we concluded that it was a hoax call." The school authorities lodged a police complaint regarding this email against an unknown person at Udyognagar police station. Police are investigating where the email was sent from and with what intent. The school teaches children of Navy, Army and Air Force personnel.
