55-year-old stabbed to death by three

Rajkot: A 55-year-old farmer was stabbed to death allegedly by three persons when he rebuked them for quarrelling near his farm in Mithapaswariya village in Anjar taluka of Kutch on Saturday night. Police have booked Chatur Thakor, Raju Koli and Rahul Koli for the murder of Rana Vira and started investigation.According to complaint filed by Vira’s nephew Harilal (39), the accused trio had come to farm of the deceased and started quarrelling among themselves. As they started abusing each other, Vira asked them not to utter bad words and asked them to leave his farm. Thakor told him that they were on a public road and asked him to go away. Vira warned Thakor that if he did not leave he would have to call other farmers. This angered Thakor, who took out a knife and stabbed Vira twice while two other accused hit Vira with sticks. When Vira’s family members tried to save him, the accused brandished a knife at them and told them to stay away. The accused escaped leaving their motorcycle on which they had come.Vira was rushed to a private hospital in Adipur where doctors declared him dead before admission. Police have formed teams to search for the accused who are on the run.
