5 killed in accident near Sayla

RAJKOT: Five persons were killed when the SUV they were travelling in collided with a jeep and a truck near Sayla early on Saturday. The accident also left 13 persons injured. Police identified the deceased as Tanvir Dhada (25), Sajida Dhada (22), Tanvir’s sister Astha Dhada (23), all residents of Neelam Park, Devpara main road, Rajkot, Saddam Sheikh (22), a resident of Dhudh ni Dairy, Rajkot, and an unidentified person. “The victims were on their way back to Rajkot after undertaking a pilgrimage to Ajmer Sharif dargah in Rajasthan when the accident occurred near Sayla. It was a pileup as a jeep and a truck also rammed the SUV,” an official from Joravarnagar police station of Surendranagar, where the case in this connection has been registered, said.
